Porto Cesareo - Centro Storico zone
The old town centre of Porto Cesareo is situated on a small peninsula flanked by two rivieras, Riviera di Levante and the Riviera di Ponente, from the small harbour, mooring place for the local fishing boats and from an archipelago of little islands dotted along all the coastline at a distance of 500-1000m. If you want to swim in this area, there is a little beach of the Riviera di Levante and the islands which can be reached on foot or by a shuttle service laid on by the fishing boats. In the old town centre you can find many coffee bars, restaurants, shops, snack bars and pizzerias as well as many fishmongers where you can buy local fish. On foot or by bike you can get to the sandy beaches in the north of the town in 10 minutes. Almost all of the flats in this zone are old houses belonging to fishermen who let them to tourists in the summer. Most of them do not have car parking facilities and are flats on the 1st floor with sea-view from little balconies.
